Canada also grants Visa to Immigrants through various provincial nominee programs. The applications are assessed on applicant’s ability to establish in particular province while immigrating to Canada. Each province and territory has its own streams and criteria for their PNP.
Four types of Candidates come under Canadian Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)
- The Individuals who hold a valid work permit and is recently or currently, employed in a province.
- Candidates who qualify for an existing PNP program and submit an expression of interest to the Express Entry pool. However, there are certain kinds of PNP programs which chooses the potential candidates from the Federal express entry slot on the basis of their academic qualification or skilled work experience.
- An applicant who possesses some kind of connection with the province they are applying for. For instance, it can be for someone who studied in a province or earned a job offer from an employer in the province.
- On certain conditions, PNP program allows the candidate to sponsor a family member. However, to eligible for this, the applicant should meet some necessary requirements.

While many provincial programs come under the authority of a particular province, the ingestion of other PNP’s is governed by Express Entry. In such cases, the applicant needs to submit the expression of interest and then your profile will be placed into a pool of prospective applicants.
Moreover, there lies some prime benefit of applying to PNP managed by Express entry. The main advantage is that the applicant might be invited to apply for Canadian Permanent residence, controlled by the express entry. It will also earn you so many options to obtain your visa through Federal Skilled Worker program, PNPs, the Canadian Experience Class program and even the Federal Skilled Trades program, as it all comes under express entry program.
So, ultimately, the all types of PNP’s will lead to the same thing i.e., Canadian Permanent residence. It will help you acquire the status of Permanent resident and help you live and work in anywhere any part of Canada, and is protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
