Even though the admission procedure differs in each institution, there are some basic eligibility criteria for getting admitted into a Canadian university/college. There are mainly two ways to make the application- either online or paper applications. In both cases, the applicant needs to submit the following mandatory documents.
- Attested copies of 10th, XII & Graduate Degree (if applicable)certificates, including Mark Sheet
- A completed application form, which is often submitted online
- A Curriculum Vitae
- A Letter of Intent
- References or Recommendation letters
- Proof of strong proficiency in English. (IELTS/ TOEFL/PTE)
- Standardized Tests, e.g. GMAT, GRE (depends on the programme)
- Statement of Purpose(SOP)
- Two Academic reference/ Recommendation letters
- Two employment references (if applicable)
- Passport size photographs
If the application is successful, the candidate is intimated that she or he got accepted and would receive an offer letter from the respective institution. After accepting the offer, the applicant can pay the tuition fee using the online banking system.
Once the tuition is paid, the applicant has to get a valid student permit by applying to the CIC. Along with the application the applicant has to submit the required documents mentioned in the checklist for a student visa. It’s always better the students to seek assistance from a lawyer/authorized consultant so that the entire visa process goes smoothly.
While submitting the application form, the student needs to remit a non-refundable visa fee to the consulate. A student visa will be issued by the CIC after assessing the application.
