Sponsorship – Facts to know

Canada, the country with progressive immigration policies always encourages family unification and under certain conditions. A Permanent resident or a Canadian citizen may sponsor a spouse or common-law partner. More, in Canada, same-sex marriage is recognized. Like other immigration Programs, the applicant has to meet financial requirements, medical and security clearance and also have to submit all supporting documents to ensure that the application has not been rejected at any stage.

Even though the embassy won’t conduct deep scrutiny on career and education part, the embassy will thoroughly scrutinize each and every detail on the application, especially your relationship with your spouse, in spite of the fact that you are married, common-law or conjugal partners. As per the visa office, an honest relationship should follow “logical progression of how the couple meets and gets married.” This is to detect fraud, while the purpose of the marriage/relation is to immigrate Canada.

Immigration red flag

Immigration red flag indicators:

  • Age Gap
  • Lack of familiarity between the couple
  • The couple not sharing a common language
  • Peoples from the areas where fraudulent activities detected.

However, remember “red flag doesn’t mean straight refusal”. Once the officer asks questions regarding their suspicions and if you address the red flag in a precise and clear manner, it will address the concerns of the officer. The last thing you have to do is answer properly without concealing the facts and this will lessen the possibility of a refusal of your application.
