How to move to Canada

Move to Canada as a permanent resident

Canada uses the Express Entry system to regulate skilled worker/ economic immigration to the Country. This is a point based online application system. To file an application in this stream, the applicant should qualify under one of the following federal economic immigration programs, mentioned below.
● The Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)
● The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
● The Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)

A particular portion of Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) is aligned with the Express entry system. Hence the provinces can also be able to select potential candidates from express entry pool for the local job market.

Who will qualify for the Express entry system and how does it work?

The candidates submit an expression of interest (EOI) to IRCC by creating an Express Entry profile. This profile includes your personal information, skills set, work experience, language proficiency, education, and other details. Once your profile is accepted and placed in the pool of candidates, you will be ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS). Those with a higher score in the CRS will eventually receive an Invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residency in Canada.
