On August 7, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the second draw of the month. IRCC issued 1000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Candidates considered in this draw had to meet a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 534.
Draw Type | Number of Draws in 2025 (As of Now) |
---|---|
Provincial Nominee Program | 14 |
Canadian Experience Class | 8 |
French Language Proficiency | 3 |
Healthcare and Social Services | 3 |
Education | 1 |
As of 2025, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued a total of 50,628 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system.
Most of these draws have focused on candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The rest of the invitations have gone to skilled workers with Canadian experience, French-speaking applicants, and applicants in designated priority occupation categories.
All these efforts are to address specific labour market needs and to ensure the immigration system supports the country's economic goals.
Draw Date | Invitations Issued | Minimum CRS Score |
---|---|---|
August 7 | 1,000 | 534 |
July 8 | 3,000 | 518 |
June 26 | 3,000 | 521 |
June 12 | 3,000 | 529 |
May 13 | 500 | 547 |
February 5 | 4,000 | 521 |
January 23 | 4,000 | 527 |
The number of invitations sent out in each draw varies quite a bit—from as few as 500 to as many as 4,000. IRCC is carefully balancing how many people to invite based on overall immigration goals and the demand for CEC candidates throughout the year.
The required CRS scores to get an invitation have stayed mainly in the mid-500s, which means competition is pretty strong. For example, the highest cut-off was 547 back in May when fewer invitations were given out, making it more challenging for candidates at that time. On the other hand, when more invitations were available, like the 3,000 or 4,000 draws, the score needed to qualify tended to be lower, making it easier to get an invite.
So, candidates with Canadian work experience need to stay on top of their profiles and keep improving their skills because the bar stays relatively high to be competitive. As a skilled worker, if you are aiming for permanent residence under the CEC, it's essential to stay informed and be ready to act when the next opportunity comes.
When you get your Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residency, it's an exciting but busy time. To make the most of this opportunity, here's what you need to do next:
Starting to organize your documents ahead of time can help you stay on track and reduce stress once you receive your ITA.
