The first healthcare and social services category-based Express Entry draw of 2026 was held on 20th February 2026. This time the category-based selection targeted healthcare and social services professionals for permanent residence through the Express Entry system. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 4,000 invitations to apply (ITAs).
The eligibility for the draw required candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 467 and submission of an Express Entry profile before 9 December 2025 (UTC) along with work experience in healthcare and social services.
This is the first healthcare and social services category-focused draw of 2026. The draw's focus is to meet the labour shortages in the healthcare sector. This draw is the third category-based selection draw of the year and the tenth Express Entry draw in 2026. The previous rounds of the draw invited candidates under programs such as the Canadian Experience Class, Provincial Nominee Program, and French-language proficiency streams.
Canada’s continued effort to strengthen its healthcare system by attracting skilled global talent is reflected in this latest category-based draw.
