Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3000 candidates to apply for permanent residency through the Express Entry system.
The latest draw, conducted on June 25, 2025, focused exclusively on candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) who had gained valuable work experience in Canada.
To qualify, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 521 or higher.
Notably, the minimum required score dropped by 8 points compared to the previous CEC draw held on June 12, 2025. The change reflects a slightly easier path to Canadian PR for skilled workers living in Canada.
In June 2025, IRCC conducted two significant Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Express Entry draws, targeting skilled workers residing in Canada.
On June 12, IRCC targeted individuals with at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada, offering 3,000 invitations for permanent residency to those with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 529. Just days later, on June 26, IRCC repeated the gesture—this time inviting another 3,000 candidates, but with a lower CRS threshold of 521.
By lowering the required CRS score, IRCC is recognising skilled workers in Canada and opening doors for those who have already built their lives here. These back-to-back draws highlight IRCC's commitment to supporting hard-working residents as they pursue permanent residency.
June's Express Entry draws made it clear that IRCC is putting a special focus on skilled workers who have already invested in Canada's future. They even lowered the CRS cut-off, making it easier for more of these dedicated workers to qualify.
While these draws opened doors for those already living here, other draws remained much more selective.
Here is the breakdown of Draws held in June 2025.
In June 2025, IRCC held three Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Express Entry draws: June 2, June 10, and June 23. These draws issued 277, 125, and 503 invitations, respectively, all targeting candidates with provincial nominations and requiring high CRS scores.
The most notable PNP draw of the month, on June 23, issued 503 invitations to apply, provided they met the high CRS score requirement of 742.
IRCC is ensuring that only those with both strong provincial backing and a proven fit for local labour markets receive these life-changing invitations for permanent residency.
IRCC held only one targeted Express Entry draw in June 2025 for candidates with experience in healthcare and social services.
On June 4, 500 ITAs were sent out to skilled workers who could make a real difference in Canadian communities—each needing a minimum CRS score of 504. The healthcare draw invited fewer candidates than the Canadian Experience Class draws and had a lower CRS score than the PNP draws.
The approach underscores IRCC's commitment to addressing critical healthcare needs in Canada by prioritizing skilled professionals in these essential sectors.
Draw Date | Category | Number of ITAs | CRS Cut-off |
---|---|---|---|
June 2 | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) | 277 | 726 |
June 4 | Healthcare and Social Services | 500 | 504 |
June 10 | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) | 125 | 784 |
June 12 | Canadian Experience Class (CEC) | 3,000 | 529 |
June 23 | Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) | 503 | 742 |
June 26 | Canadian Experience Class (CEC) | 3,000 | 521 |
From February to early June, IRCC largely avoided CEC draws, instead focusing primarily on Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates and, to a lesser extent, category-based selections.
These previous draws also issued far fewer invitations (ITAs) than the two most recent CEC rounds. Maybe IRCC is signalling a move toward more frequent and larger CEC selections in the coming months.
