Provincial nominee programs (PNPs) allow a pathway for individuals interested in immigrating to a specific province and territory in Canada. Each province /territory sets its criteria according to its economic and demographic requirements.
Which is the best Canadian province to move into and settle down in quickly? We have attempted to provide you with some basic information to set the ball rolling and start your immigration journey.
This PNP fits you best if you have the education, skills, and work experience to contribute to a specific province’s (or territory’s) economy. If you want to become a permanent resident of Canada, you have to live in a particular area.
Each province/territory has designed its unique streams to target different people according to their specific requirements. As an example, the program streams of a province/territory may target students, business persons, or skilled/semi-skilled workers according to their needs.
Some PNPs also allow you to immigrate if you meet the criteria. Often, PNPs fill current gaps existing in the labor force; those candidates who have experience in high-demand occupations will have the highest chance to immigrate. But, we should be aware that the criteria set by the province/territory can change without any notice.
Listed below are three provinces with their PNP streams through which it is easiest to get Canadian permanent residence in 2021:
Saskatchewan’s International Skilled Worker Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a program intended to help skilled workers with experience living abroad immigrate to the province. If you are an experienced international worker, there are three sub-categories that you can apply for under SINP: Employment Offer, Occupation-in-demand, and Saskatchewan Express Entry.
The Employment Offer stream is easiest for those that have a Canadian job offer in hand. The Occupation-in-demand stream does not need an Express Entry Profile.
You can apply through this sub-category if you do not have any standing job offer. Still, you have skills in an in-demand occupation if you live in Canada or abroad and meet other sub-category criteria.
Other eligibility conditions to apply via SINP include a minimum of 60 points / 110 on the point assessment grid, a language score of at least 4 in the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB), and completed post-secondary education, training/apprenticeship comparable to standards in Canada.
You can choose this stream to immigrate into Saskatchewan if:
You should have a valid Express Entry Profile Number/Job Seeker Code, a language test result with a minimum score, and post-secondary school or training comparable to at least one year of Canadian education.
The AINP is an immigration program through which skilled workers can get permanent residence in Alberta. Alberta is a western province in Canada that has an excellent education system and a growing job market. Edmonton and Calgary are cities located in Alberta, and they are popular immigration destinations.
If you are looking to get permanent residence in Alberta, you should be a skilled worker who can fill up job shortages in the province, or you should be starting /planning to start a business in Alberta. You can apply for permanent residence status along with your spouse and children or common-law partner.
Suppose you are a foreign worker living and working in Alberta or planning to live and work in the province. In that case, AINP allows two streams of entry, Alberta Opportunity Stream and Alberta Express Entry Stream.
In the Alberta Express Entry program, AINP invites candidates with an Express Entry Profile with the Canadian government to nominate for permanent residence in the province. They receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) Letter from AINP. Then they may contact the AINP.
Only candidates who meet specific eligibility criteria receive invites. The interested candidates’ applications go into a pool for processing.
You will receive an NOI if
A significant benefit of this entry stream is that the minimum CRS score is 300, allowing more candidates in the pool to receive an NOI from the province.
Once you receive a provincial nomination, your CRS score will go up by 600 points, and this will boost your chances of receiving an ITA in the next Express Entry draw (to become a permanent resident).
The factors that increase your chances for eligibility are having a job offer or work experience in Alberta if you have graduated from a Canadian post-secondary education institution or have a parent/child/brother/sister (a permanent resident) living in Alberta.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is currently inviting applications under the Human Capital Priorities Stream. It allows foreign workers, international students, or business owners/entrepreneurs from outside Canada to apply for permanent residence in Ontario.
Ontario is a popular destination in Canada for immigrants. Toronto is a bustling city here with a growing tech-jobs market. As such, the province allows a large quota of newcomers to immigrate via the OINP streams.
Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream gives skilled foreign workers who have the education and language ability to apply to move into and live and work permanently in Ontario.
To receive an NOI from OINP, you should have a valid IRCC’s Express Entry System profile. After that, you can apply online for permanent residence consideration by the Ontario Government.
To qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, you should meet the following requirements of at least one of these federal immigration programs:
Choosing one of the options sets requirements for your work experience to apply for permanent residence in Ontario. You must also have a Canadian bachelor’s/master’s/PhD degree or equivalent in another country to apply through this stream. As part of language requirements, you must read, write, and speak English/French of at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7. You must also have enough money to support yourself and your dependents when you settle in Ontario. A candidate must have a CRS score of at least 400 points. Ontario scans through all Express Entry profiles in the pool before inviting specific profiles to apply through the OINP. The exact criterion Ontario uses to select candidates is not made public.
